The Battle of Valley Forge

Valley Forge took place in the year of October 7, 1777. During the war the weather was very snowy and brutal for the soldiers. A lot of men not only had died of gunshots but of not having enough food, water, and also died of frostbite too.George Washington's wife visits the troops at Valley Forge. They finally had managed to find fish from the nearby rivers. Valley Forge started external image Washington-at-ValleyForge.jpgafter the battle of Sara toga had ended. The Continental army was encouraged by its victory at Sara toga.Valley Forge was located in Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. That winter the men were destroyed by the cold and hunger. The British had one of their worst defeats in the war during this battle. On October 17, 1777 Burgoyne surrendered his entire army to American General Horatio Gates. This was only one of the heart breaking battles for the British in the Revolutionary War. The Battle of Sara toga became a turning point in the war. A turning point is a single event that causes important and dramatic change. The war was a very harsh and short war; it was finally over in the year of 1778.
